14-Count Criminal Complaint Filed Against ADL-LA in 2005

February 6, 2007

Since last October, ADL-LA has received some very interesting and informational letters from individuals employed or who used to be employed at LAAS and the City. Some of these letters have been for ADL-LA's eyes only, but others do not specify that they are to be kept confidential, rather, it appears they indeed want this information to be exposed .

Since many of these letters have been sent anonymously, we have had to confirm the information they contain by speaking to other inside sources who we know and trust inside the department. Then, once confirmed the letter is sent to our attorney in order to see if any details that may identify the person should be redacted; then we scan the letter and forward to our readers. This takes time, but we would rather go through these steps then post something inaccurate.

The last letter we posted to our list serve concerned Dr. Katie Rainey, (go to www.StopTheKilling.net and click on Action Alerts for the one titled "Inside Informants Speak") who is the acting head veterinarian at LAAS. The one below is in regards to the fourteen count criminal complaint that was filed against ADL-LA on December 16th, 2005.

ADL-LA is currently fighting these ludicrous charges and will begin to post updates to the Legal Eagle page of the STK web site soon. But for now, the letter below comes from an anonymous source inside City Hall. It is unedited except for one sentence that was redacted having to do with the writer's specific  family members.

12/03/06 Dear ADL,      It's getting close to the holidays and maybe because they're a time to reflect I felt the need to write your group and if you can pass my letter to Pamelyn Ferden it would be appreciated.

For the past year I've been trying to figure out what I should do. My family noticed that I'm not myself and I think one of the reasons I'm writing your group is that maybe this will help me to not feel stressed about things I know and haven't been able to talk about.

A bit about myself, I worked for the city under Jim Hahn and now under Antonio. I'm not a vegetarian but I love animals but I do enjoy eating a burger once in awhile.  I'm from a family that's been involved in human rights and feel that to be true to my family I need to give you some information. I don't know if it'll help or not.

When Jim lost and Antonio was elected lots of us had hope for changes in the city.  But it became pretty obvious early on that Antonio was just another politician with a big bright smile. He's determined to  move up to higher office and run for president. But as far as substance Antonio lacks it and he's basically a lot of bling. It's hard to even work for the city when everything is so unpredictable and seems to be hanging on by a thread. It's as if we're always on the brink of collapse and the only thing keeping everything going are the Angelinos continuing to go to work, get their pay checks and just keep on keepin on. There are three kinds of people in the city. The majority are just doing what they've done and have their routine and habits. Then there's an angry minority who concentrate on things like the city's homeless, dealing with gangs , poverty and unemployment. Then there are the liberals who talk about helping the angry minority but can't get anything done because of all the red tape and bureaucracy. If something upsets this balance then all hell could break loose.

The reason I have to get all this off my chest is because starting a  year ago I heard conversations going on about  things that had to do with your group. I was curious cause from your groups web site, you're not the type of organization that I would think would be a major focus of the city but you are. You group was trying to get Antonio to fire Gordon Stucky and when Antonio decided to fire him the city scheduled an evening press conference so he could announce it. T hen we're told to cancel it and told Antonio would be doing a press conference with city attorney R. Delgadillo in a few days in front of the courthouse in Van Nuys. The evening press conference that was originally scheduled was cancelled at the last minute even though some news media had already been informed about it. Antonio along with the city attorney decided to do a combined press conference to announce G. Stucky being fired and the filing of a fourteen count criminal charge against your group. It was all planned ahead of time because Antonio didn't want the press to think he'd caved into your group. That's what I want you to know is that it all came down from the very top. The union wanted in on it and they called the city attorney. Antonio wanted in on it too.

I was there the day your group had a meeting with Antonio because I saw Pamela in the office and recognized her from a picture in the Los Angeles Times newspaper. After the meeting Antonio was shaking he was so mad and it was the subject of rumors for days. The joke around city hall has always been that Antonio has a small man complex and has to control everything including his wife, but that's a whole other story.

I need to let you know and don't know if this can help your criminal case but the entire press conference where the city attorney called your group criminals and Antonio fired G. Stucky was a media stunt so that Antonio , city attorney R. Delgadillo and the union could save face while trying to destroy your group at the same time.  I don't completely agree with your cause that animals should have rights, should they be able to drive a car? But I think you have the right to fight for something you believe in like my family's done. That's what's bothering me. The city wants to destroy your group because you're causing too many waves and the city just doesn't want to change there's too much red tape and the unions control everything including the city attorneys office.

I don't think it's fair what the city does to people who cause waves. I thought things would be different but they're getting worse and worse. I wanted to say hang in there because power to the people who have the guts to fight for what they believe in. You're being singled out because you're making waves and I've seen it before. Good luck to ya'll. Follow the money and you will find out.
